LINGERIE.

Underwear is more carefully made and chosen than ever ' to-day, for with tfur transparent gowns and slim hips our "undies" must be nj}t' only beautifully adorned, but exquisitely fitting. The rule to observe with regard to our cami-Blips is, the fewer we wear the better! But, on the other hand, though we wear few at a time, our wardrobes are better stocked than ever with sets to suit various frocks. Designs in underwear are both comfortable and becoming, and no more costly than they were in the days when wo wore tier upon tier of flouncing on our pettioofcts, or threaded cur camisoles with endlons satin ribbons. Although we choose more expensivo materials, we use less at a time, and they last far better. A good thick silk wears for ages almost, and as for the indispensable .Fuji silk, after three years of wearing and washing one nightdress is still going strong i except where it pulled a little at the sleeve seams. But three years ago wo wore sleeves to our nightdresses, and to-day we do not. Which proves that fashion does occasionally found her foibles on economical notions !
