ATTRACTIVE FEATURES.
Arrangements in connection with the military pageant, to be held in the Domain next week, are practically completed. " At a recent meeting of the committee it was decided to ask the Railway Department to grant excursion fares to Auckland in connection with the pageant, as was done at Wellington.
Major Dow reported that arrangementa had been made for providing brilliant illuminations, including . searchlights, which would be taken from the fort. It was decided that children from Auckland orphanages in charge of responsible persons, be admitted free of charge, but that motor-cars would not be allowed on the ground. *'■■* '■ . The pageant promises to be a brilliant affair. -When held in Wellington a short time ago it proved a decided success and attracted large numbers of people. A demonstration of a night attack "somewhere in France," will be a feature of the production. To obtain uniforms exactly similar to those worn 'in the Middle Age 3 orders were sent to London, and many famous firms were engaged in the making of the costumes. _ The secondary school cadets will take no small part in the function. - Boys from the Auckland Grammar School will give a massed physical drill display, while King's College and Sacred Heart Colege pupils will combine in the performance of gymnastic exercises. Displays will also be given by boys from the Mount Albert Grammar School aai the Technical College, while students of St. Stephens College will take part in Maori and Samoan items. Exhibitions of Scottish and old EnglUV* dancing are included on the programme.
