DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOLS.

INCREASE IN PUPILS. The increasing popularity of the district high schools in the Auckland district, of which there are now 25, was indicated in a return presented to the Education Board yesterday by the senior inspector, Mr. C. W. Garrard. The total attendance at the secondary departments of these schools now stood at 1162. Two . years ago the roll was 765, so that there had been a 50 per cent, increase in that time.
