CABLE STEAMER'S VISIT.
PATROL AT WELLINGTON. An arrival, in Wellington on Saturday afternoon was the Eastern Extension Telepranh Company's cable steamer Patrol, from, her base at* Singapore, via Newcastle (Australia): It is now some six years since • the Patrol was in > Wellington. To look at, she. resembles some pleasure craft, with her coating of white paint and gold facings. "The, ship was looking very fine when we left Singapore last' month, but coaling at Newcastle took the polish off her." stated an officer in. Wellington. For the past few days the Patrol has been attending to cable work in the Tasman Sea. Rough weather was encountered, and she was compelled to stand by for three days. . The vessel will remain at " Wellington for three 01* four days, and will the!) return to Singapore, via Sydney.
