CLOSING OF A ROAD. •'A suggestion that the Papakura •choolgrouc 's be enlarged by the closing W » part of King Edward Street, at present dividing the • property, was made by the Rev. W. o.' Wood at the meeting of the Papakura Town Board on Tuesday evening. . He pointed, out that the education authorities had decided to erect an infant school and more ground space was necessary. The road could .be closed without, inflicting any hardship. The members of the board received the proposal sympathetically, but decided to view _ the property before coming to a decision. In response to a request by the Beautjfying Society the board decided to make a grant toward the cost of employing labour. . A special meeting was arranged for Monday next for the purpose of discussing matter? relating to the water service. * The Rev, W. C. Wood was appointed % the board's -.representative on the Great South Roads Association.
