GROCERS' CONFERENCE.
DELEGATES ENTERTAINED.
, The conference of ' the New Zealand Master Grocers' Federation was concluded yesterday. Visiting delegates will this morning be taken for a launch trip on the Waitemata, and will be entertained at an excursion to Titirangi in the afternoon.
The morning session yesterday was occupied with a discussion on price fixation, following a paper by the secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Mr. J. W. Collins. In the afternoon Mr. G. H. Roach, of Hastings, addressed tho conference on " Figures That Talk," and Mr. C. A. Wilson, of Auckland, on " Salesmanship." The delegates were the guests of the executive at -luncheon, ana in the evening the annual dinn'er was held, the president, Mr. J. Henderson, presiding. The chief toasts were: " Department of Industries and. Commerce,", Mr. Winfield and Mr. Collins; " Merchants and Wholesale Association," Mr. T. o'Sullivan . and Mr. H. W. Hudson; " The, Federation,'.' Mr. A. J. Entrican and the chairman; " Visiting Delegates," Mr. F. A. Hutchinson and Mr. G. A. Goodiey.
