PRACTICE PROHIBITED. NEWMARKET BOROUGH ACTION. SCern discouragement .of . tie practice adopted by certain delivery- companies of depositing food tuffs on the pavement and leaving them -there, will' henceforth be extended by tho, Newmarket < Borough Council to offenders within ife district. ■ The matter was introduced at last evening's meeting of t'ae council in a letter ! from. the Medical Officer of Health, I staff- , ing that complaint had been made with I - regard to the practice, which was not only a menace 'from the public health point of view, bu? was also'an, offence under the borough " by-laws, which prohibited the placing of obstructions on , any street or footway.: The council .will "instruct its inspectors to keep a/ sharp look-out in future for offenders, the •Health Department's; inspectors, already having received similiar instructions.
