POWER BOARD'S WORK.

EXTENSIVE RETICULATION. MEETING WINTER LOAD. SUGGESTED. BRANCH OFFICES In the course of a report on reticulation presented by the engineer-manager, Mr. A. Wyllie, to the Auckland Electric Power Board yesterday, he stated that during the. past year reticulation had been carried out in a large part of Mount Eden, a. considerable part of Epsom, a section of Mount Albert, most of One Tree Hill, Archhill, part of Bemuera, Ellerslie and Penrose, while a great deal of work had been done in the city and in areas already reticulated. The programme to date had been carried out with the exception of the far part of Remuera. Continuing, Mr. Wyllie said that the most important job ahead was to prepare for the city load next winter, a work which he anticipated would be ready by the end of April, providing that the missing half of the rotary converter came to hand. The overhead work in the far portion of Remuera would be started almost immediately. Work on the further part of Mount Albert and Mount Eden would be, started early this month, when Onehunga should also be reached. It would not be possible to deal with any load beyond Penrose from the King's Wharf station, which must go through the Government sub-station at. Penrose, while the board would not be able to supply the larger consumers in and about Onehunga until Horahora power was available. The report was adopted, a suggestion for the establishment of the small branch offices for the payment of electric light accounts being sent to the finance Committee for • consideration.
