The British Imperial Oil Company's steamer Physa, now at Lyttelton with case oil for discharge, was no* worked yesterday owing to a deadlock having occurred in regard to the rates of pay for case oil for railway workers and deck workers. The men are claiming extra pay owing to the fumes being unpleasant, and there being a certain amount of risk of explosion. The employers claim' that the men who. have ceased work have committed a breach of the award.
