THE MILITARY CAMP. [BT • TELEGR.VPH.—OWN CO-RESPONDENT.] '■ NGABTJAWAEJA. Saturday. The officers and men of the 2nd. Auckland Battery were entertained at a social on Tuesday evening by the citizens. The ball was well filled and dancing was kept up till past midnight. Camp sports were held on Wednesday afternoon, and the trophies, some of which were donated by Ngaruawahia residents, were presented to the winners at a camp concert in the evening by the 0.C., Battery Lieutenant Baxter, M.M. The machinery for the local brick arid tile works is now arriving, and an early start will be made with the erection- of buildings Several of the officers on the permanent artillery staff wrote- to the Borough Council inquiring if they could obtain from the council sections for building purposes. The council has plenty of land in its reserves, but the tenure is not very suitable, and the council is trying to' obviate this difficulty.
