POLICE AT PAEROA.
EXTRA OONSTAHLE WANTED. [by TELEGEAFH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAEROA, Tuesday. A petition, signed by numerous residents, praying that an additional police constable be stationed in Paeroa was presented to the Minister for Justice, Hon. C. I, Parr, to-day, by Mr. P. E. Brenan, vice-president of .the Chamber of ' Commerce. Mr. Parr promised to have the request investigated, ~ and said .he would confer with the commissioner of police. The Minister remarked that he was afraid to ask for too ranch from the Minister for Finance, as he had "just been successful in getting an increase in pay for the force. :: ■
