BALKAN BANDIT.
ARREST AFTER MANY CRIMES. BETRAYED BY A GIRL. Australian, and N.i.. Cable Association. (Reed. 8.5 p.m.) VIENNA. Feb. 10. Yugoslav police have arested a notorious brigand thief, Tcharuga Stanisavljevics, whose band terrorised the Novi Sad district, formerly Hungarian territory, for two ' ears, during which they looted many villages, robbed hundreds of travellers and killed a score. Stanisavljevics was living ab Minkovsti under the alias of Nikola Brezgics. He conducted a profitable business as a forwarding agent and entertained leading cit/ens. He visited Vukovar under the name of Balics and made love to a girl, but subsequently he disappeared. The girl traced him and consulted the police who found the man she loved was identical with Brezgics and further investigations revealed that Brezgics was the brigand chief.
The police surrounded his house during the night and arrested him in beu. He confessed that lie murdered 18 persons.
