WOOL KEEPING UP.
SALE AT WANGANUI. GOOD PRICE MAINTAINED. DEMAND FOR LAMBS' WOOL. [BT TBLIOaAJH.— ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI. Sunday. The third Wanganui wool sale of the season commenced last evening, when there was a full bench of buyers representing all countries. The wool consisted mainly of late shorn clips. A fair quantity of seed was noticeable and generally speaking the wool was rather tender in staple. The total catalogues to be submitted amount to 16.500 bales, of which over 7000 bales were sold last evening, Competition was fairly keen. A feature of the sales was the exceptional demand by French* houses for good 3tyle lambs' wool. Crutchings also met with a keen demand. The competition for fleece wool and pieces, in comparison with the sales in other centres, was well maintained and the prices showed a decided increase on those of the last Wanganui side. Ten bales ,of Merino* realised 27|d. Slipo lambs' sold up to 28id.
