THE RODNEY SHOW.

RECORD ATTENDANCE. INCREASE IN ENTRIES. STRONG CATTLE CLASSES. (by TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONTjENT.] WARKWORTH, Saturday. The annual show of the Rodney Agricultural Society was held at Warkworth to-day. There was a record attendance from all parts of the district, the rapidly increasing number of motor-cars widening the circle of patrons. The entries totalled 843, about the usual number. In stock Friesians and Jerseys wore the leading classes. The judges in these classes, Mr. Spencer Robinson and Mr. E. D. McLennan, expressed themselves as very pleased with the quality of the exhibits. Mr. McLennan remarked on the solid advance in quality shown as compared with his visit of three years ago. Mr. M. Fletcher, in the Friesians, and Mr. W. T. Wedding, in the Jerseys, carried off tho principal honours. Horse classes were rather on the light side, but some good stock was shown, Mr. J. Flynn annexing the champion hack and also a gold medal for horse winning most points, Mr. E. A. Pickering running him very close. Inside exhibits were well up to the usual standard, cookery and preserves making a very fine show. Needlework also was well represented. Mrs. J. M. Wick won the prize for most points in cookery and preserves and also a special prize for most exhibits in all classes. Miss Burke won the points prize in needlework.. In vegetables tho children's section was* particularly good. Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M. P., presented the cup's and trophies at the concert this evening. Mr. E. D. McLennan, president of the Auckland. A. and P. Association, on behalf of the judges, voiced appreciation of the ' way they had been treated, and complimented the comittee en the manner in which everything had been managed.
