BAY OF PLENTY BANDS.
A PROPOSED CONTEST. [ B T TELEGRAPH,— CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Saturday. At a meeting of the Tauranga Municipal Band last night a letter was received from the Opotiki Brass Band suggesting that a Bay of Plenty Association be formed, with a view to holding a, band contest in the Bay at, an early date. The Tauranga Band agreed to support the proposal. A resolution was also adopted in favour of establishing a musical and elocutionary society in the town, with the object of holding competitions in conjunction with the proposed band contest.
