AUSTRALIAN NATURALISTS.
The Australian Museum, Sydney, publishes a quarterly magazine, now in its second vear, that appears to be a valuable addition to the normal activities of a museum. The latest number includes articles on Australian pearl fisheries, with an account of the industrial uses of pearl shell, nest-building rats, crabs, and caterpillars injurious to man, and an account of a sojourn in the Kermadecs. Thus the magazine covers a wide field in natural history, and the excellence of the various articles is enhanced by the beautifully reproduced photographic illustrations. The editor is Dr. C. Anderson, director of the museum.
