ETIQUETTE ON TRAMS.
Sir, —I have had friends staying with me from the South, and tjiey remarked unfavourably on the free comments made by the motormren and conductors on the trams. Is it a- phase of life in Auckland only, because some American friends staying here mentioned the same thing, and: had occasion to be much annoyed. I should think they should attend strictly to business and, whatever they may see in the ordinary course of their daily work, should abstain from any comment, as these points are quickly noted by strangers, although residents- have become inured. Hoping this comment will bo noted. Aucklander.
