OTAGO STILL' HOPING. [BT TELEGRAPH. OWN- CORRESPONDENT.] DDNEDIN, Friday. In its annual renort the astronomical branch of th© Otago Institute stated that while Yale University now proposed to place its 26in. refracting • telescope in Auckland, the Otago atmospheric ' conditions bore every evidence of being much superior to those of Auckland. The committee was endeavouring to arrange telescopic tests for presentation to Yale in the event of an unsatisfactory result' of the Auckland observation.
