VARIATION IN COWS. [B* XELEGB.Vra.— COBBIBPOKDBNX. J HAMILTON, Saturday Some idea of the variation in the producing capacity of different cows is given in the returns prepared by the New Zealand Co-oper&tive Herd-Testing Association, which is now testing some 30,000 cows throughout the Waikato. One cow, a five-year-old Shorthorn, owned; by a Eurtka farmer, gave 111.181b. of fat for the 30 days of November, and 135.661b. of butter-fat for 47 days up to December 2. Another cow, a three-year-old Hoistein, owned by a Tirau . settler, gavo only 5.41b. of fat for the 30 days of November aiyj 15.21b. of fat for 64 days up to Decerfber 2.
