" In ordinary season* j the price per acre for swede turnips for feeding off on the ground varies from £5 to £8, arjl in only rare cases is the latter figure exceeded. This season, however, prices have' risen to an abnormal height, and recently an exceptionally good crop. V.- grown by Mr. Fidler, East Winton. was i " sold at £16 pur acre, which is probably a f record for- Southland. : 1 In South Cantera- bury, swedes have been 'selling as high as %I- £14 10$ rod £15 per acre.
