Business was quiet on the Auckland sharemarket on Saturday. In Government securities War Loans, 1941 and 1927, were available at £96 15s and £98 5s respectively, no buyers offering. Sellers of Soldiers' Loan bonds asked £100 10s without response. In banks New Zealands (old issue) were quoted at sellers 525, buyers 51 3d, and the new issue at sellers 50s 9d, buyers 60s 3d. Nationals of New Zealand at £6 18s were sought at £6 14s. .Australasias were offered at £13 2s 6d, and New South Wales at £41, without response. In insurances Npvv Zealand.'! had inquiry at 28s 6d, sellers quoting 29s 3d. South British at 40s were wanted at 38s. Nationals were available at ?6s. Miscellaneous lines had inquiry at late rates. In mining Waihis sold at, '2Bs, with further demand at 27s 9d, sellers quoting 28s 3d. Grand Junctions at 4s 10rl were sought at 4s 3d. The following sale took place:—Waihi. 28s.
