A VISITOR'S APPRECIATION.

Sir,—As an Australian visiting Auckland for the first time I must congratulate its citizens on this beautiful city, on the wonderfully attractive picnic excursions up the harbour, and the fine shops with up-to-date window displays; quito equal to some of the leading stores in England. It is good to see tho expansion going on in the suburbs. It is good to see the children living in districts where they can have good milk and fruit in abundance, and where they learn to cultivate healthy pleasures. Ono suburb which appealed very much to an Australian was Glen Eden, nestling under the Titiransri hills, and- close to vour wonderful Exhibition Drive. I shall leave Auckland full of pleasant memories of courtesies and kindnesses of all officials to a visitor. John Lascelt.es. Katoorhba, Australia.
