FISHING AT TAUPO.

GOOD SPORT IN LAKE. [BY TELEGRAPH". OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUPO. Saturday. Although the holiday rush has not yet begun a fair number of visitors are hero and good fish are being caught by anglers. There are not many fish in the Waitahanui and other eastern streams, and fly fishermen have been getting small baskets. The catches secured by trolling in the lake are mostly good fish, and two overseas visitors on three days recently got 17 fish, aggregating 163 pounds, 21 aggregating 194 pounds, and 11 aggregatin 87 pounds. The proportion of ''slabs" is small, particularly in the western portion of the lake near the WhanpanuiWaihaha fishing camp and Waihora. Some good rainbow trout have been caught near the Waikato outlet recently on the fly, ranging from nine up to twelve pounds. A largo proportion of the big trout from ten pounds upwards are young fish.
