EXPORT CONI^BXjI/'BtKiEa,

LONDON IMPORTERS FRIENDLY

MR. MASSEY EXPLAINS.

By Telegraph—Press Association— Special to P.A. LONDON. Nor. 23, A special deputation representing tha New Zealand Dairy Produce Importers. Association waited on M. W. F. Massey this morning for information concernii>£ the proposed Dairy Produce Export Contral Board and how it will function in th« future. It was explained that the association was not hostile, and had not been formed in consequence of the passing of the Bill. Mr. Massey gave a long explanation of the dairy pool legislation and of the meat producers' organisation, emphasising tha* they were not of Socialistic character or intention, but rather the outcome of the desire of producers to have a more unified voice in matters affecting their produce. Experience of the work of the Meat; Board showed what could be done for the betterment of the trade and dairy farmers, by a plebiscite, gave evidence of an overwhelming desire of that section of the industry for a similar organisation. The deputation assured Mr. Massey that they were heartily in sympathy with anything that was going to do New Zealand any good. Their organisation was formed to co-operato with the producers, and they would do what they & -.aid for the trade.

Mr. Massey said the London firms might rest assured that they would have> 'fair play.

In the course of a discussion regarding the great future before the dairy industry of the Dominion, it was stated there was no reason why New Zealand and Australia should not eliminate foreign supplies of dairy produce to Britain. It was stated by agents that New Zealand cheese found great favour on the market and was improving in quality each year.
