Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8.4 p.m.) LONDON. Not. 22. The Duke of Devonshire, in a letter generally approving the recommendations of the committee appointed to consider the future of the Imperial Institute, states that the British Government is prepared to propose to Parliament an annual grant of £90C0 for five years and to invite the Colonies and Protectorates to agree to a contribution between them annually of £8000 for the same period, on condition only that the Governments of the Dominions and India give assurances that they will make annual contributions totalling £8000 for the fixed period of five years.
