Then there followed a period of much anxiety owing .to the presence of paid Indian agitators, and later Fiji began to feel the effects of the world's financial and economic collapse. The blocking of the export of Fiji bananas to Australia was also a matter which gave the Government much anxiety and caused an aggravation of the slump ■in trade which seriously affected the Treasury. All through his term His Excellency has been . subjected to influences which have made his term of office no sinecure. Lady Rod well and _ family have already reached their home in England. I
