Mr. W. E. D. Stokes, a Chicago multimillionaire, his attorney, and several others have ; been indicted by ; the Grand Jury - there on ; charges of conspiracy to defame the character of Mrs. Stokes. Several years ago I/*. Stokes began a divorce suit against ■ his wife, which is due to come iup for hearing ; again; in the courts shortly. It,, is alleged that Mr. Stokes and the other defendants, several of whom are negro servants, made false affidavits to support Mr. Stokes' charges of indiscretions against his wife. : , /' '< ,
