DOMINION INDUSTRIES.
THE AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.
HON. W. D. STEWART'S SUPPORT.
The fact that - the Auckland Industrial Association; in co-operation with the Auckland/ Agricultural Association, has decided io hold a Dominion Industrial Exhibition at Auckland next year was brought under the notice of the Minister for Industries and Commerce, the Hon. W. Downie VStewart, yesterday by a deputation headed r>v the president of the Industrial Association, Mr. J, A. C. Allum. It was pointed out that the Government was not to be asked for financial assistance, nut it was desired that the Government Department's should send exhibits that would assist in making the exhibition thoroughly representative. It was further requested that exhibits be carried free on the railway and that excursion tickets be issued during the period of the exhibition, that post and telegraph facilities be installed at the exhibition buildings, and that an Order-in-Council be gazetted declaring the Auckland Exhibition to be an exhibition ■under the Exhibitions Act, 1910. The Minister promised his support (where his departments were concerned and 'undertook to make representations to the Minister for Railways and the PostmasterGeneral. ■
