ASSOCIATION MATCHES.

SHOOTING IN MARCH.

[BY TKLEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Friday. The programme for the second annual meeting of the Army Rifle Association, to be held at Trentham from March 11 to March 14, has been issued. Although there are a number of new features in it, the salient points of last year's programme have been adhered to.

The first match is the army championship open to the naval and permanent military forces. Air Force, territorials and cadets over IB years of age, and reservists. The King's Medal is open to, the hundred highest scorers in the first match and companies. There are also the Trptham match, the regimental teams rifle match for the chaltenge shield and silver and bronze medals, the New Zealand services match for tho challenge trophy and silver and bronze medals, the New Zealand services match for the challenge trophy and silver and bronze medals, the Vickers' machine-gun match for the challenge trophy , and silver and bronze medals, the Lewis gun .match for the challenge trophy and silver and bronze medals, the Hotchkiss gun -match for the challenge trophy and silver medals, - and the territorial and cadet championships. The following prize-money lias been tentatively allotted:—Army' championship, £100; Kings Medal, £30; iS-entham match, £61 100; teams" rifle match. £56 New Zealand service match, £30; Vickers machine-gun match, £40; Lewis gun match, £29 10s; Hotchkiss pun match, £27; ; battle practice, £13 10s; cadets' individual rifle match, £42; second match, £20; third match, £20 cadet teams, £15 15s; battle practice match,'£6 15s. No entry fees will be charged, and competitors will be provided with free railway, coach, and steamer warrant* and rrtions and bedding while in camp.
