Goddard thus' woo the heavyweight boxing championship of Britain. At the outset Goddard rushed in and sent a right to his opponent's ribs. Bloomfield landed a nasty right hook to the jaw. Goddard leaned forward and pushed his opponent down ; through the rope. Ho helped Bloomfield up, but immediately struck him, causing a storm of hooting and drawing a warning from the referee. - In the second round Goddard was floored with a hard right, but rose after a short count.
