" The, weather was fine, and 'there; was: a very large attendance from all parte; of the district, the Waikato, King Country, Thames Valley, and Raglan t all contri . bating their \ quota to : "'People's Day. ' ' The horse competitions attracted special interest, the competitors including ; some 3-i excellent performers. The chief event, the Dominion .hunters' competitijin, attracted; 30 competitors, Miss Kelso's Patch being: . . awarded first prize after a great test, ,'BiJi which some good jumping was witnessed. ; V The grand parade in the afternoon was ">. an interesting spectacle, ;. the best ever witnessed ,at Hamilton, : the horses and cattle showing to particular' advantage. Among the cattle, the dairy breeds were very prominent, and were mi'ch. admixed. The milking Shorthorn and Ayrshire classes were particularly good, % although the Jerseysiiantf : Friesians (were ; more numerous.
