A man named Fred Brown, of Reservoir, was sentenced to three months in gaol for ill-treating his son, aged 10. The child, in evidencp, pnid his father was very ' cruel, and had frequently burned the tender parts of the boy's body with a red-hot poker, after first making a younger son, aged six, hold his victim.
