Reid, of the t New Zealand Forestry Department, Christchurch, has been appointed to succeed the late Mr. Stride as officer in charge of the sand reclamation work at Oroua Downs. Mr. Reid has already taken up his new duties. Mr. R. McGillivray, fields instructor of the Department of Agriculture, who was formerly stationed at Christchurch, has, • just returned to New Zealand after hav- ■ ing undergone a course of training in agricultural science at the Reading University College, England.
