TO-DAY'S FORECAST* < GOVERNMENT REPORT, The Government meteorologist, reported last evening as follows —Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds, backing to northerlies northward of New Plymouth and Napier; northerlies, strong to gale, shortly elsewhere 5 weather fair, warm, ani hazy, with increasing cloudiness generally. Rain is expected to follow soon in the West Coast and the southernmost districts of the South Island. The barometor is falling, especially in the South.
