R.M.S. MAUNGANUL The Union Company advises that the Royal Mail steamer Maunganui, bound tA>m San Francisco to Sydney. via New Zealand, is due at Wellington at 6 a.m. tomorrow. She will continue hor voyage to Sydney at noon on Saturday. GERMAN-AUSTRALIA LINE. En route from Swedish ports, the GermanAustralia steamer Hanover sailed from Antwerp on October 15 for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Carrying cargo from Scandinavian porta and Antwerp, the IJlberfeld left Capetown on October 15. She is due at Port Pirie on Monday, thence going to Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney. W4IRAU RIVER CHANNEL. The old wooden coal hulk BlaokwaU, recently purchased by Messrs. Eckford and Co.. Blerbeim. was towed from Wellington recently to be sunk at the mouth of the Wairau River. It is anticipated that the sinking of the hulk at the bar will cause the channel to be ecoured, and thus afford deep water for the vessels trading between Wellington and Blenheim. THE REMUERA, The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Remuera. at present at Wellington, is to leave that port to-day for Timaru. She will then go to Lyttelton to complete discharge, later returning to Auckland. She is due to leave this port for London on November 24 WEST NTLTJS POSTPONED. Messrs. Henderson and McFarlane advise that the steamer West Nilus. which was to have left San Francisco for Auckland. via Honolulu, at the end of last woek. has had her departure _ postponed owing to her having been detained at Vancouver through a stevedores' strike at that port. She will not now leave the American port until Saturday, and is due hero on December 9. NGAPUHJ AND RARAWA. The Northern Company's steamer Nga» ■Duhi will resume running in the Tauranga trade on Monday, and the Rarawa will take ,up her usual ■Onebungs.-iNew Ply- 1 mouth running on the same day. The Agapuhi leaves Onehunga for Auckland, and the Rarawa Auckland far Onehunga, on Saturday. THE ARAWA. „ The Shaw, Savill and Albion Lino steamer Arawa. is due at . Wellington from London and Southampton on November 19. After disembarking her passengers, and unloading cargo, she will come to Auckland, being due here on November 27. She will tail for the South about three days later, and will be despatched from Wellington on December 13 for Southampton and London. lONIC FROM THE SOUTH. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Line steamer lonic is due from Bluff on Saturday. After loading dairy produce and general cargo here, she will sail for Napier on November 16. She will then call at Wellington and Lyttelton. tailing from the latter port for Southampton and London, via Cape Horn, calling at Monte Video and TeneriSe, on November 23. A FAST PASSAGE. What is said to he a record run from Port Pirie to Sydney has been made by the Blue Funnel cargo steamer Meriones. -Tho voyage occupied three days, tho steamer leaving Port Pirie at about 6 p.m. on Saturday. October 20. and arriving at Sydney Heads at 7.20 o'clock on Tuesday evening. October 23. Her average speed is estimated at about 10 knots. Tho Meriones recently made a remarkably fast trip from Kobe to Newcastle. AUSTRALMOUNT UNDER OFFER. The Commonwealth Government steamer A'ustrahnount. which recently took relief supplies to Japan, is one of the fleet of cargo steamers now in the market for sale. Offers have been recoived from Japan for the purchase of the vessel, but no sale has been effected. Japanese shipping interests, it is stated, are anxious to secure the Australmount now that she is in Japan- . ese water*. Inquiries have also been made in various direction* for r»q»t of the other steamers of the line now idle at Sydney, .and the offers will in due course be considered by the Shipping Board.

Tha Union Company's steamer Wanaka is due from the Eastern Pacific Islands on Suuday afternoon. She will sail again for the Islands toward the end of noxt week. THE MANUKA. The Union Company advises that the Manuka is to leave Auckland for Sydney on December 20, instead of one day later as originally announced. KATOA FOR AUSTRALIA. The Union Company's steamer Katoa sailed for Portland last evening. After leaving that port she will go to Sydney and Newcastle, RIMUTAKA FROM S. AUSTRALIA. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Rimutaka is expected to sail lor Wellington on Saturday morning.. After visiting other Southern porta the vessel will be despatched from Wellington far London about the middle of next month, WESTMORELAND ARRIVED. The Federal Line steamer Westmoreland, which left Auckland on September 11 for Great Britain, via New York and Boston, arrived at Avonmouth on Tuesday. SAILINGS FROM COLON. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamers Paparoa and Rotorua have left Colon. The former sailed from Wellington on October 7, and the latter from Auckland on October 13, both for London. PORT HACKING FROM NEW YORK. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Hacking, which left New York on November 1, is due at Auckland on December 3.
