[b_ telegkaph.— OWN, COUBKSPONDEST I " TE AROHA, Wednesday. Over sixty candidates, from Te Aroha, Manawaru, and Morrinsville, were ~ conn firmed by Bishop , Cleary at St. Joseph 'a. Roman Catholic Church last Sunday. •; At the examinations conducted in first aid to the injured,' was held in connect tion with the Te Aroha branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. The following were successful: —Misses Biggs, Forrest, Hirton and Keaney. In the home nursing class the following , passed with distinction:Mesdames A. Charters,. Monk, D. Moon, and H. Woods, and; Misses A. and D. Burrows, L. Curie, L. Leece," I. Meikle, S. Macdonald, N. and D. Gilchrist and D. and E. Ranby. Of the candidates who presented themselves not one failed. Dr. W. R. Lawrence was the instructor. The certificates will be issued as soon as they are signed by the Mayor of Auckland. -,- Mr. C. G. May, who has been teacher in • the secondary department of the Ta Aroha school, has resigned. ■:'* As a memento of his association with the school he was presented with a valuable fountain; pen. ■ . ■ ... v'- ~* * .
