LITTLE SHOAL BAY RESERVE.

The Birkenhead Borough Council met last evening, The Mayor, Mr. E. C. Walton, presided, and there were also present: Messrs. E. G. Skeates, C. E. Campbell, A. Hadfield, A. E. Wood, P. H. Hayward, L. R. L. Moller, F. A. Gilpin, W. Worthington, and T. FarrelL The Lake Takapuna Board of Control intimated that the latest analysis of water taken at the pumping station disclosed a satisfactory degree of purity, coli being absent. The Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association suggested that Birkenhead should organise a district court for the Winter Show next year. It was resolved to ask if a court would be permitted setting out the advantages of Birkenhead as a residential area, by displaying typi cal phonographs and similar means. The recommendations of the Little Shoal Bay Reserve Committee favouring granting areas for a croquet lawn and football ground were adopted.
