METHODIST ANNIVERSARY.

DEVONPORT SUNDAY-SCHOOL. The Devonnort Methodist Sunday-school celebrated 47 years of activity by a " tea" and concert last evening. The hall was crowded. The concert programme was contributed by scholars from each class of the Sunday-school. An item by small children, under seven years of ago, a variation of the " Old Women in the Shoe," was warmly applauded. The Rev. J. E. Parsons, circuit minister, presided. The secretary's report showed an' increase of 80 in the number, of scholars. The treasurer i sported a successful year; contributions tr the orphanage and home and foreign mission funds being ' well maintained. It was reported that £600 was in hand towards the cost of additions to the school buildings, and work ; would be put in hand early m the next year,
