ONE TREE HILL COMPLAINT \
GREENWOOD'S CORNER SERVICE.
A request that the tram ways authori-" .. 1 ties revert to the, old practice of starting ' | cars at Green wood's Corner, instead of 1 at the Royal Oak, was recently made by I the One Tree Hill Road Board. In a • j reply received by the board last evening,: v 1 the city tramways manager said the re-' quest could . not be granted, but that 1 : arrangements were being made for more.•:'': cars to pass through Greenwood's Corner; i; ; Members of the board were not at all '"•. satisfied with this compromise. The Onehunga people,,-. it was stated, filled.-:the Sir;;:' cars at the Royal Oak, and crowds o{ •, f»eopls «ere constantly finding themselviia eft at Greenwood's Corner as the'cars, dashed past with chains up. • ■■ '-M^l, "Well, you see what they say," rW ' ; marked one member pacifically? "they are arranging-for more cars to pass through—", •- 1 exactly the point,", was. the, aggrieved reply. "We, don't want any more passing through _; we want them to • stop occasionally' to pick up passengers!" It was decided that a further letter ho sent to the tramways manager, drawing , attention to the fact that the increase in . traffic at Greenwood's' was far greater, than at Royal- Oak, and pressing for a return - to the former. system.
