TREATMENT OF NATIVES.
UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS.

. Dr.. Earle Page has received the report of Mr. A. S. Canning,-who was appointed by the Commonwealth Government to inquire into allegations of flogging and illtreatment of " natives in mandated territory. It is stated that the report, which is based on evidence supplied by all missionaries in the group, Wesleyan, Roman Catholic, and Lutheran, and by Government officials and others, conclusively refutes the allegations. The . report will be J dealt with by Senator Pearce on Thursday.
