WINDPIPE , NEARLY SEVERED.

•■■•'.■ A ; coroner's >'■ inquest • was [held;, at the hospital to-day concerning the death ; .-f ! George Knowles. aged 74;-an inmate of the Jubilee Homo tor Aged Men. Tho [ deceased was supposed to have hurt himj self' on a barbed -; wire ■: fence, his : throat and hands , being :■; covered '■•■ with '•■'■■•<': blood. The matron jbandaged: the : wounds. The injured than; admitted- that he-had cut his throat with a razor. ,[; He was removed to the hospital; where the medical officer found an incised wound on the neck two inches long, v extending into y the! upper part of the windpipe, and almost severing it. •; The deceased developed ■•', septic pneumonia; S?'. a result of I-laceration;: of the throat. This was the cause- of death, and a verdict was*., returned accordingly.
