BUILDINGS AT HAMILTON.
HALF-YEARLY RETURN. [BY ' telegraph.— correspondent ] HAMILTON, Saturday. A return showing the ; value of buildings erected in Hamilton for six months ended September 30, 1923, as compared with the value of those for the' corresponding period last year, has been prepared by Mr. J. W. ! Lewis, borough building inspector. ■■:': The details are as follows, those for the 1922 period being given in parentheses:— of building permits, £119,773 (£106,155); dwellings, 99 in wood ($2), 15 in other materials (15) ; business premises, 7 in wood (20), 11 in other materials (13); public buildings, 1 in wood (1), 3 in other materials (2); additions to all classes of buildings, 80 in wood (91), 10 in other materials (12). The average amount spent on new work this year was £19,962 per month, as compared with £17,692 last year, an increase of £2280 per month. ;.',■■;<
