MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. : ;' :: ' -: ':-- y - ; ':: ■. — - ; ,'V Moanataiari.—Since last report the drive has been extended five feet and is now far enough advanced to enable, ua to begin rising for which a contract will 'bo let shortly. Owing to the dry weather there has not been enough water power available to drive the compressor. Wo are conaecmently removing the compressor to the battery where it will be driven by the suction gas plant. This should prove just as economical as the water power, and we will have a constant pressure and fewer stoppages. The. installation of the compressor, the air receiver, and the necessarv piping should- be completed within 'two, davs. \ . •":.:;;::- .^;', New Waiotahi.—-A start has been made to put up a rise on the Cure Reef over the point where some strong dabs of gold were seen in the drive. The manager reports that" he is stripping the reef,for about 20ft. long but no quartz has been broken. The country disclosed by the south east crosscut continues to be of an civcellont description. :v
