At a meeting of the Walton branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union the secretary was instructed to request the member for the district to bring to the notice of the Minister for Labour the present dearth of farm labour and the possibility of meeting the position by prevailing on the unemployed in the cities to seek work in the country, and by making provision for future requirements by securing suitable immigrants under the, Empire Siittlo•menfc Act.
