New Waiotnhi.— drive on., the course (of the Cure No. 4 reef has been exterded with two men. ; The reef hits been cut through into the hanging wal!, and proves the lode to be 4ft. of solid stone. • The footwall portion has shown some strong dabs of gold, a:ad . a few pieces can be classed as picked stone. This quartz _ is i being paddocked. and as soon as sufficient is in hand, will put through the MoanaItairi battery. : Wbrk on the south-east crosscut ha* been continued, and the country penetrated is of good description." The winze on the footwall leader is down 20ft. The leader is of a kindly nature, about 6in. thick, but no gold has been . seen. „ Ohinemuri.—The south drive on the Camoola reef is now out 612 ft. from the main crosscut. The reef is the full width of the drive, with neither wall exposed, and carries a fall face of clean quarts.
