PROTEST AGAINST SUBSIDY.

Hills, the committee unanimously passed a motion expressing approval of , the deputation's recommendation to Mr. Massey that no: subsidy should be'granted to the projected Dunedin Exhibition unless it was . of a solely Imperial character. In regard to the preparation of a representative exhibit of New Zealand secondary industries for the British Empire Exhibition, it was decided that ';. the various manufacturers' associations should be urged to take immediate steps to arrange for the selection of a comprehensive range of specimens of goods made in Now Zealand. • ' Acting upon the suggestion of the president, / the committee decided that a deputation should wait upon the Auckland Harbour Board with a view of obtaining the use of the wharf sheds for the Dominion Industrial Exhibition which will be held next year in place of the usual Winter Show.
