HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE.
GRANTS BY GOVERNMENT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA, Monday. The Hungahsnga Drainage Board met at To Aroba on Saturday, Mr. F. E. Hughes presiding. The chairman reported that his visit to Wellington to make application to the Public Works Department for •grants for certain drainage works! in the district had met with success. The board was granted £300 (10s. for £1), for North Waihekau special rating area; £900 (10s for £1), South Waihekau special' rating area; and £300 (15s for £1), Piraunm special rating area. . . The State Advances Office, Wellington, advised that the . Hungahunga Drainage Board had been granted a loan of £1100 for land-drainage work in North Waihekau special rating area. Regarding the raising of a loan of £350, supplementary to one of £3500, for drainage work in the district, the clerk reported that arrangements for the lifting of the money were nearing completion;.
