GALE IN WELLINGTON.
WIND UPSETS MOTOR ;' WORRY. Such was the force of Friday's northerly gale in Wellington that ■ a motor" lorry, standing -in an exposed position- in, "Waterloo Quay, war caught by .a i fieroe gust and overturned. " The ( . lorry belonged to the Colonial. Carrying Company, and was righted with the aid of a Post Office' lorry; It was little the- worse for its experience. /..'/ • ' '• Slight- damage was observed in various parts of the city. Many gardens suffered considerably in Kelburn and, in other districts, while not a few fences were blown down, and several gates were unhinged.
