CHEMISTS IN CONFERENCE.
WORLD PHARMACOPOEIA.

■' Delegates from 12 out of 30 affiliated countries attended a Pharmaceutical Conference here, which accepted the proposal of Mr. Butcher (Australia) that Governments should confer with.: national societies of pharmacists before adopting measures affecting dangerous drugs. The Victorian Government consulted pharmacists .in the drawing up of the Dangerous Drugs Act, and in its administration.;-' .•'•.. , . • / The conference ' agreed to Mr. Butcher's proposal that Governments', should .give pharmacists representation on committees dealing with drugs supplied under national health legislation. : ',''' • Mr. Butcher moved also the New South Wales Pharmaceutical Society's jproposal th.it the conference should adopt the principle of the charge of a professional fee for compounding prescriptions, instead, of the present system 1 of merely charging a 7>ercentage of the cost of the . ingredients.
