Strange in recognition of his services to the district during his term as provisional chairman and later as chairman of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board.'- ■ ''. ' The queen carnival, which is being conducted at Waitoa to raise funds to improve the school grounds, has so far met with success. It. will finish during November. ' The timber for. the new post office at Waitoa is now arriving, and it is expected that the contractors will commence work this week. . ■■
